Science for School: Inspiring Young Scientist
The School of Health Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia had organized ‘Science for School: Inspiring Young Scientist’ programme on 24th August 2017. This programme which was attended by 50 Form 4 students and their respective science teachers from 10 elite schools in Kota Bharu area was aimed to inspire these young students to become future scientists via hands-on activities, besides motivating them to excel in their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination later and subsequently in their tertiary education.
The programme began with welcoming remarks by the Programme Chairperson, Dr. Nurul Asma Abdullah and opening remarks by the Dean School of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Norazmi Mohd Nor. Prof. Norazmi also introduced the School of Health Sciences and motivated the students to join our undergraduate programme. The programme was then followed by interesting hands-on activities in various disciplines. It is hoped that these interactive experiences could cultivate their interest in science. Lastly, the programme ended with prize giving and closing remarks by the Programme Advisor, Prof. Dr. Shaharum Shamsuddin.
